motor instantly stops around 3.5k
ok so a kid i know has a del sol, with a jdm d15b, runnin uberdata with a hmt kit. it runs fine, looks like the seals on the turbo are bad, it leaks oil out the cold side. it drives great but if you hit the gas it goes to 3.5~4k and its like the engine gets a fuel cut or something, just totally stops revving......pretty sure he isnt throwing any codes, im just looking to see if there are some common problems that sound like this? his boost gauge shows a max of ~2.5psi, which i originally was due to the fact that he had his valve cover nipple still hooked up to the charge pipe (maybe that blew the seals on the turbo), but it almost instantly goes to no vacuum when the gas is touched.

Who chipped the ecu? Sounds like your hitting either a boost cut which is a simple fix through the editor, or your ecu is going into "limp mode", which could mean a number of things. Make absolutely sure your getting no codes. Also, who made the basemap your friend is running? Possibly a problem in there somewhere.

Is the shitty piping leaking? Is the engine drinking oil from the turbo? Is something else shitty (distributor cap / rotor, plugs, etc)?
The tune could be way off too. What does the afr look like when this happens?

i fixed the valve cover nipple for him when i saw it, and tightened the clamps so the piping shouldnt leak, xenocron made the basemap for this setup so i would asume its good......it was throwing codes before, but this was due to the fact that it is using an edm ecu, so the chip was fixed and no codes now....any ideas?
