14b-16g confsion
So one of my friends claims she has a 16g in her talon, i'm not positive of the year but when she popped the hood I saw TD05H on the turbo, I know its not the stock turbo since its an automatic, but I told her I thought it was a 14b. I'm pretty sure a 14b can be tansformed into a 16g, correct? or did they ever make a 16g stock from the factory with TD05, on it? I'm just wondering and thought someone here would know for sure. We just want to know for sure that she didnt get ripped off.

Re: 14b-16g confsion
From the outside the two turbos will look pretty much identical, both are TDO5. The quickest and easiset way to tell the difference is to remove the intake and look at the compressor wheel. A 14b's fins will all be identical, evenly spaced. The 16g has that dual fin design, big little big little type look to it. I will try and find you a picture to better help show you what I'm talking about.

Re: 14b-16g confsion
and a 14b can't be turned into a 16g
the back plate of a 16g wheel is flat and a 14b is curved, plus you'd need the housings just a hastle BUT u could take a 13g and make it a 16g easier than a 14b, b'g and g's don't mix well
so take a look and if its not a 16g tell her shes a lying **** and beat the ---- outa her...............jk..........but call her a lying slu
