blown rings could have a LOT to do with spool. it is a t3/t04e 60trim...which is fine for my teggy. its not a wastegate issue because the wastegate is chained shut.

no shaft play is a good sign.
does the impeller spin freely?

A picture of your setup would be nice.

You know what happened to me once?

I had a K&N air filter in front of the turbo, installed on a straight piece of pipe. Well the clamp was not tight enough and the filter "walked" on the tube so the tube went all the way in the filter. THe tube was touching the bottom of the filter almost tightly, preventing the air to go in!!! It was idling ok but never boosting of course!!! It took me 2 weeks to find out!!! I was about to go nuts looking for leaks and worrying about the turbo and engine.....

well as of now to make sure the setup would work i am running open compressor. so i dont think thats a problem
