Because its OBD2B and he cant without getting an OBD1 ECU and conversion harness..... i wish it was easier for us OBD2 folk. Otherwise I would have been chipped by now.

a convo harnes is 60 bucks, and a ecu is like 110. well worth it aND very easy to do .

but, check valves and missing links do the same thing. so whatever is cheaper just do it.

go to the pet store and buy fishtank check valves, therelike a dollar a piece.

yes it is obd II and i do agree it would be nice to be able to chip an obd II. the main problem we were having is that even if we through on check valves the map still through the cel of the map sensor seeing boost. thought about it and realized that since the map was attached to the throttle body we were putting the check valves in the wrong place (after the map sensor so they did squat ). now i know what i gotta do either get an older throttle body or add a spacer plate drilled ot with a t in it then we should be good to go

Have you got the check valves facing the right direction?

u dont have to change the throttle body, get a missing link "obd2" item. thats what there for. if u run a diff throttle body ur gonna have to run an obd1 map sensor as well... why hastle? get a harness ill sell u an obd1 ecu and u can get it chipped... ur wasting ur time for a blown motor in the near future.
