This one threw me for a loop,
94 civic b16a installed NA temporarly (to pass emissions)

wired up knock sensor, other than that have changed no wiring at all.

When you get on it, e.g. rev into and past vtec kick-in at WOT it all of the sudden
POP engine dies, CEL , and the 15 amp ECU under hood fuse is popped.

thought i would be perhaps sub-par re-pin job of knock sensor at ecu?
checked and it's connected fine and not shorting on anything that i can see.

THEN the bitch did it once while reversing out of the driveway...meaning it did it without being at WOT or pushing it....

perhaps I'm overlooking something obvious and i'll track it down at some point but was curious if anyone knew something to check right off the top of there head...poor ground somewhere perhaps?

Found out which wires can pop the fuse, then follow them. Most likely it is a wire that is cracked or A:MOST touching a ground. Had this problem myself, turns out it was an injector wire.
