Good rods for boosting a D16Z6... ??
Alright, I am just about done with waiting on the TT rods to come back in stock and for people to posts TT rods on sale, and there is just no way I'm going to put up $400 plus on eagles because I'm just that cheap, so I was wondering- I have the famouse Vitaras everyone is talking about. Was just wondering if anyone had ever boosted with stock rods and vitara pistons? If anyone recommend this? Or how good can it be? How many pounds maximum recommended, etc...
On the other hand, where's the write up on the B18 LS rods being put in a D16? My bro confirmed to me that someone has done this before, because we both saw this online at different times. Just dont know if it was here or on HT. Again, the good and the bad?? What the advantage over the stock d16? Etc, etc...
Thanks guys!

LS rods can take 300whp, but are still thin. They also need quite a bit of machining to get them to fit. TT rods haven't shown to break, but I haven't seen them for sale for quite a while. You may be waiting a long time. You can get eagles for $300 shipped if you look at honda-tech. Even if you do blow a hole through the vitaras, you can still sell them for $200-250 used.
FYI stock rods are good to ~230whp on 93 octane, 250-275 on higher octane and a conservative tune. Ringlands break as often as stock rods bend, so it doesn't pay to upgrade one w/o doing the other. Besides, if you do decide to swap later on, thats ~$75-100 in rings you'll have to replace. I'd rather spend more now than waste money later.

HiProfile - Thanks for all the information. 300 HP on the LS rods are quite high don't you think? I didnt expect that high of a number, but if you and everyone supports it then maybe it's not too bad. Come to think about it, $300 for eagles is not bad neither. Will I be looking for the H beams or the I beams? Stupid question, I know.
But just out of curiousity, does anyone know where to find the write up on making the LS work on the D series?
I'm def checking out HT for the eagles.
