Default intercooler location

I was wondering if I put my battery in my trunk and put my saab intercooler where the battery currently is will it get enough air flow? This will make running the intercooler tubing much easier. Oh yeah car is a 93 accord, to see it click on the link in my signature.

I doubt you'll see much flow in that location unless you added a hood scoop near the location of your intercooler. It's been done before.Name: dsmintercoolertopmount.jpg

Thanks for the info but I don't know about a hood scoop maybe some heater vent hose and a hole in the headlight wher the bright bulb is.

Go ahead and try it, if it's not much work. After your done, run the car hard. After your done, touch the intercooler, see how it feels. It should not be hot, if it is, then it might be a good idea to run it somewhere else.
Like he said, it's been done before, and there are some older cars that had the intercoolers inside the engine bay, some with scoops some without. Still it should work decent.

The best advice I can give you is to try and do it right the first time. It might take a little longer, but you'll be happy with it.

I really don't want a scoop though and I have the same intercooler. The way I see it is if I'm going to run all that tubing infront of the radiator I might as well buy a front mount. But like everyone else I have limited funds, I should make resistor chips and sell them on egay to pay for better parts.

cut holes in the hood for the piping to come thru, and just mount the intercooler on top of the hood standing up.
