your friend is a smart guy... spending a shitload of money on a brand new civic si, and is racing it with 23 miles on the clock. WAY TO BREAK IN AN ENGINE, DUMBASS!

God damn, Im gone for the weekend and this thread turns into a discusion on were it belongs...? NE way its up to you quadnie if he wants to move it or lock it. At least you leave it up to the poster about locking it down. Im sure you were around during the guestapo(spelling?) ---- that went down awhile ago.

My setup is as follow:
T-25 5psi
Stealthmode Mani
2.5" DP and Cat-back
DSM SMIC
Monza Stage 1 BOV
Greddy Blue Box
Arrospeed FPM
MSD SCI
Denso 1 step colder plugs

Damn, I need a digi cam...

Yea, He not the brightest guy around but but its not my car.
His brother got the car as a graduation present so technicaly he didnt spend money on it, just the exhaust.

Heres another discusion to start. After I beat him he started to think about boost his car and how much it would cost. I told him I wouldnt recomend a HMT on a new car but if hes still instrested in a turbo to look into an aftermarket kit like greddy. Now Ive never been a fan of kits like greddy or Apex do to all the restrictions and the fact that its a pre built none custom setup. Would you start chopping up a brand new Si to HMT it, I wouldnt. That the only reason Id recomend a bolt on kit like.... Greddy. NE one else have any thougts on this

What are you talking about? How badly do you think we had to cut-up our cars to fit our HMT kit? I did not have to cut ---- on my car. HMT is just a way of putting a cheap kit together which in most cases yield better result than a ready-made kit like Greddy or Edelbrock . Just take a look at some of the kits the HMT guys have on their cars...if they don't tell you it's a HMT kit you would never know. All it takes is putting the right parts together and be as neat as possible while doing it . Will I ever put a HMT kit on a brand new car Yes! Yes! Yes! Based on the result I got from my current kit I will always put my kit together myself. HMT for life . That's my $0.02 .

Woah, settle down there buddy. Lets remember Im rockin a HMT and I would never trade it in for a greddy or eddlebrock anyday. Personally I put alot of time(2 years) into setting up my kit and I think it looks damn spiffy. The point I was trying to make is... not really sure how to word it? OK, you buy a brand new 04 Si perfect and clean from the factory and most likely your gonna drop some serious loot on that purchase. Do you really want to start ripping this off and replace this with that. hmmm, how bout this. If you had the cash would you rather put dropzone or Tein suspension on your car. Tein, and why? Better quality, warrenty, performance. Its a trusted name. Now Im not saying Greddy is better performance wise, Im saying its a factory tested brand new warrenty carrying product. Greddy does have a nice factory look if installed right. Keep in mind that if you have the time and money your HMT will prolly look even better then a Greddy and duh, perform nicer. Let me put it one more way. Lets say you come into posesion of a 69 charger. There are gonna be people who would like to put bigger this, lighten that, and paint & weld a cage inside. There are others that would like a perfect factory condition vehicle w/ maybe a new rebuilt motor. It comes down to there being 2 diffrent types of people. Im sure Quadnie being old school can understand this, I hope If you have cash like top secret and Top fuel, well buy all means HMT that 04 NSX, 04 Si, 04 S2000 and set em loose. This is just my $0.02 FLAME ON!

just because it's homemade doesn't mean you have to use PVC change pipes, or screen door mesh for a filter. it just means that you actually did the research and pieced a kit together yourself instead of some *** clown that just bought a greddy kit and still has no clue of which part is the turbo or what the BOV does besides makes a cool noise.
and hell yeah, i would defanitley boost a new car, especially the new Si's because they are slow.

tell him to sell it and buy a 5g civic and boost that!

For the price he could buy the car, swap in a b16 or b18c, and build a kit and have money left over.

No ----. Thats what I would do to but his dad wants him to have a brand new car that will be reliable. This is also why he cant start adding to much crap to it. His pops is the kinda guy that checks the oddometer everyday and only puts oil and gasoline the honda recomends, a tightass/dumbass. An aftermarket or homemade turbo is not in the near future to begin w/.
