Default My Dodge Shadow ES (holy ---- huge images batman)

Well hello guys, I iz da noobie here. I know not allot of it is fabbed.. but I just don't have any materials to make stuff, if I can find some pipe to make a header/intake out of, I would. If anyone has any, let me know.

I has a car, looking at the car there was not to much cosmetically wrong with it... besides the rust on the roof.

open the hood and there is the 2.2L. I got this car for $60. Well, it rolls, electronics are perfecto and the interior is great.

Now for the problem. Upon removing the head, I found a quarter sized hole on top of the number 2 piston(Among other things, head was cracked, etc)
During the tear down, I found water in the oil(lolhead)
Here are some shots of the old engine and the car

And is the turbo supposed to have play? Mine does not, just wondering.

The engine.

After so long, my mom went crazy and kicked me out so she could go to MA, so 17 and two years left of school, the project got slowed down a bit... after like 9 months, 2 engines it ended up starting to look like this. Brand new rods/pistons and I honed it out and replaced the head.

And vac lines installed

Soon after, I had to pull the engine back out. It would not start! Compression was 117/115/120/120 and fuel pressure was 60lbs at 200rpm... spark was great, MSD Blaster coil and it was all timed out, spun over and made sound like it wanted to run. I tried to spin the crank with my hand, no avial... then a wrench...loosed the bolt so it was a bad rod. It was .0017 too freaken small. So I used one of my old rods, and I'm going to drop a 5 speed in it. Also found a garrett T3, I'm buying a T4 housing so it'll be a full T4 with 42/48

Plans are:
32x6x3 FMIC
40+ Injectors
255L/h fuel pump
60/48 trim turbo
reprogrammed ECU that'll handle the 18lbs-25lbs of boost I want to run.
Sound system.. hurr dunno about what to get yet.

I don't think it works like that without machining, but a T4 housing with a T3 wheel sounds the most screwy. Sure you can put a smaller housing on a bigger turbo, but to put a bigger housing the turbine wheel has to be properly sized for the housing. You can't have a small little T3 turbine wheel sitting in there with a 1" gap between the turbine wheel and the side of the turbine housing lol. Then again, Garretts are pretty interchangable and if you have the tools you can make just about anything work.

You should go with a T3/T66! I have a good one fur sale. It's a smaller .54 a/r exhaust housing, but a big *** T04S polished compressor housing (4" inlet, 2.5" outlet) that's .70 a/r. A 66mm compressor wheel mated to a P-trim turbine wheel, ball bearing center section, and smaller hotside is a recipe for good spool and gnarly *** top end which is nice on a Honda.

They both use the same compressor wheel

They are the same turbos, they just changed the housings so they could be inter cooled

The one on the right has the throttle body before the turbo, makes for REAL fast boost response & no need for a Bypass valve but it was harder to intercool them

I would ****** hat turbo right up if I could afford it, like I said, still in high school without a job

so unless it's under $100 I can't get it

Interesting, that has hot to be one of the nastiest engines I have seen in my life. Then again, every 2.2 and 2.5 turbo motor was like that so who knows. From what i hear, 300 hp is not to hard come by with something like that if you check some of the turbo dodge websites, ect.

There was a turbo Omni in a turbo or modified mag I have, something like 357whp. ---- brown and doing 11's with slicks. There's also a turbo Duster 2.2L that a bimmerforum member owns, he did 10's with it so far.

I might be getting a GLH (2.2L turbo Omni) that needs some work for free, so...

I'm going to make it a little more neater this time, I'm cleaning the rest of the engine bay out this time

wow, free? I see them (The body, and some interor) go for around $6k

I wish I could get some of the Shelby stuff for my car, and make it into a Shelby CSX

Naa, the new ones are just stock replacement rods. They're good for around 350-400hp, and the good replacement rods are around $500 so these will do for now.
