need some creative ideas
ok so i need some ideas for the intake on my turbo. i have the intake side of the turbo facing the drivers side, and i have two 2" 90 degree couplers that i can connect with little pieces of 2" piping. this leaves my air filter (which is pretty large and mushroom shaped) right over the turbo and the exhaust mani. the only thing wrong is that the air filter kinda leans down and rests on the mani and turbo, which would be too hot and probably melt the air filter. i just need a creative idea on how i can keep this thing in the air and not resting on the turbo.
thanx for the help

Re: need some creative ideas
my creative idea is run a screen. ---- a filter.
but, if it must be,,, why not run some 2.5 inch puiping under the turbo back to the passenger side and then curl it up to the stock location od the airbox.

Take your 90 and run it straight down where the A/C would be and under the P/S. That's how we roll. Here's a pic. You can see it off to the right. Will that work for you?

I think I jacked it up so just click the link.

I was going to do that only run in over the set-up to the stock airbox location, but if he is 6th gen this might be better/easier.

Re: need some creative ideas
well i have no ps so thats not a problem. but my ic piping is going to be going down from the compressor and around on that side, so i cant run some piping going down and to passenger side. and the mushroom is too big to fit downwards. its hella big. ill take some pics in a little bit probably.

Re: need some creative ideas
ok well i realized that i could mount it using just one 90 degree coupler and then just using a small piece of pipe to connect that directly to the coupler with the air filter on it, but my problem then would be this:
i need to drill 2 holes in the intake side one for my boost control solenoid, and one for my catch can. so my question is this, if i drill 2 small holes in the coupler and puch the 2 nipples up through the inside and seal it with jb weld or high temp RTV (gasket sealer) do you think it will hold fine? and if yes would you reccommend the RTV or the JB weld?

looks like your oil return is facing up?
for the nipples on the coupler, i would jb weld them on the short pipe between the coupler and the filter. just pull them apart 1/2" to expose the pipe, drill some holes and jb weld.

yea ill try that but then i dont know if i have enough clearance for the hood to close, cuz its already really close as it is with the couplers connecting. ill see if it would close fine, but if not do you think the jb weld would hold on the couplers?
and no the only return is facing down, thats the oil feed facing up, you must have missed that thread of me tryin to clock the damn thing a while back

Josh couldn't of said it any better. Screen that ****** and ---- a filter. Just go on ebay and get a smaller hks type filter if you want that HKS shroom looking filter. Their butt cheap like 5 bucks a filter or hell go crazy and get that dual intake filter and get two filters for like 20 bucks and gimme that tubing for my TT setup!
