ok, who does this and who doesnt....
so i got to thinking the other day about this....
after all the stories about people ------- up brand new turbo's or rebuilt turbo's, i began to wonder...
are these people running an in line oil filter or any type of screen? i said to myself, probably not.
think about it, your running unfiltered oil right into your nice new turbo. that oil coming from the pressure sensor T in the block is not filtered before it goes to the sensor (at least im pretty sure it doesnt).
even then, you could have a chunk of sludge break off, bearing shavings, or anything make its way to the turbo and ruin a perfectly fine turbo....
so what do you guys have to say for yourselves?

see thats the thing, many people will be fine for a while, but all it takes is just a tiny bit of debris to get in there to flub up a new turbo.
considering you can get 10micron inline oil filters for 30 bux, i use them a lot.

an inline oil filter is like 3/4" round, by 3" or 4" long, with 1/8" NPT threads on each end (in line, get it?)....
and the cheap $4 motorcycle in line filter...

like i said, thats fine and dandy. you and dr boost have had some good luck and must take religious care of your oil filtration system to not have to worry about it.
however, who is to say everyone keeps their oil systems up to par like you? i am sure there are a few people that dont, and they could be the ones that are having the bad cases of failures?

Dude, it's not like there is a special reservoir of oil that is never filtered. All oil in the system is technically filtered oil.
You fail to mention the 1000s of people who run no inline filter and have no problems.
