T3 Upgradeability/Dismanteling
Yo i was wondering if anyone here has ever upgraded a t3 off of a saab 9000. its a garrett t3 with a .42/.48 i cant even take mine apart to inspect it. if it is ok i want to upgrade it. Also any help on dismantling would be apreciated.

Re: T3 Upgradeability/Dismanteling
so you wanna upgrade to a bigger trim? and to start taking it apart you need to remove the comp housing and exhaust housing(both are held on by 6 bolts which if I remember correctly they are 12mm) The exhaust bolts might be tight if they have never been removed so drench them overnight with wd40. When all the exhaust bolts are out you need to bash the turbine wheel nut with a rubber mallet for it to pop off. Once you get all the housings off then I'll hook you up with the next steps. (don't want to waste my time typing if you can't get to this part )

Re: T3 Upgradeability/Dismanteling
Put larger backing plate, wheel and housings. For example you have a .42 Comp and a .48 Exh. Buy all those components from a 300zx for the Comp and you can have a .60 Comp and a .48 Exh.
Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what I have been led to believe.

Re: T3 Upgradeability/Dismanteling
hold on guys, all you need to do is get the compressor wheel and compressor cover, the backing plates are the same (only the inducer diameter is different from a .42 compressor vs a .60 compressor) i wouldnt worry too much about the balance of the compressor wheel, its def reccomended but like most of the guys on hmt, i wouldnt lose sleep over it. Also i have a T3 60 compressor wheel and compressor cover off a nissan T3 if interested pm me
