The V6 stangs had 7.5 rears as well as the fox 4 cyl ones. The fox 8 cyl cars all had 8.8s after like 1984 (or thereabouts). Not sure if the sn95 7.5 rears had traction lok. That would be a disadvantage. But on the other hand a swap to an 8.8 is a piece of cake.
In some ways the 6 cyl motor is a better platform to turbo than the 5.0. In particular, the block comes down over the sides of the bearing caps. That gives you a much stronger block. You can get good power out of those V6s. The argument of yeah do the same thing to an 8 and you will get more holds true for sure. But: if you have a V6 and don't have a V8, why not have a go at it? 3.8 liters is not exactly chopped liver. Plus there should be a ton of room under the hood.

wow... too much to type but im a 2.3t guy and drive a turbo coupe... they're some fast v6 stangs out there but the cost to build them out weighs the power u get.... keep the 6 banger and buy a 5.0 foxbody if u really want a stang to fool around with...
