i bought a autometer egt gauge and the guy i bought it from said he had the probe it in the downpipe and he wouldnt put it in the manifold due to drilling a hole in it .my questin is will the reading still be the same as if its in the 3rd runner on the manifold any help or advise would help thanks donny

 

From everything I've researched... ~2inches from the head in runner 3.

I'm using an HF manifold... and it just so happens that the heatshield mount by runner 3/4 was perfect once we drilled it out and cut it down some.
