RS this is an example of the picture-perfect reformed person
I think he became a Christian a few years or so after into his sentence (if i'm remembering correctly) then started writing the childrens books and such.
I guess this thread will turn out to be like the Schiavo one, everyone having a differing opinion, hotrex telling everyone he's going to rape the person in question, and us not really having a say in what happens, so lets sit back and watch how this goes

say you give a kid a gun and tell him its cool.. he goes and kills a bunch of people.. then you realize its wrong and you shouldn't have given him the gun... you're still at fault..

Here's all you really need to know about "Tookie" Williams:
In 1971, he founded the notorious Crips street gang, responsible directly for the deaths of hundreds worldwide, indirectly thousands. Today, there are tens of thousands of members of this organized criminal enterprise known for dealing deadly drugs to children and drive-by shootings.
Ten years later, he was convicted by a Los Angeles, Calif., jury of the 1979 murders of Yen-I Yang, a 65-year-old motel owner, his wife, Tsai-Shai Chen Yang, 62, and their daughter, Yu-Chin Yang Lin, 42. They were Taiwanese who owned the Brookhaven Motel on Vermont Avenue.
A sheriff's homicide investigator remembered noting how two of the three victims were elderly and could have posed no threat and that all three were tiny in stature.

Re: clemency for "tookie" williams
I say the only way he can get clemency would be through the families of the people he killed. Imagine if this guy murdered your family, is it fair that you can't get justice becuase he decided to change his ways while waiting to die himself? If this ------- was truely sorry for what he did than he should accept his punishment and write one last book about how he committed a crime now he has to pay for it. The world would have been a better place without him...

people are gonna have their opinions. i just like to cause awareness, even though most people on here care no more than what happening in their little worlds.
Tookie gives hope and is a source of inspiration for many people, including myself.
