I know how you feel. I think you definately get more for parting it out. Are you still wanting a crx? With a different motor or a whole new car?
If you just want a different setup, part out the motor and turbo ---- and keep the car. I'll take the rear brakes.

as for just parting it out, not sure. i would prefer if i was to do it for the whole thing to be gone. i would still need a daily driver...probly pick up a cheap civic hatch..

The problem with selling the whole thing is you'll find a kid that wants a turbo crx, but he's only got suchandsuch amount that he wants to spend. He doesn't want to buy rear brakes, ect. (the little things on it) So what you have to do is market it piece by piece. If your selling (for example) a rear brake setup, your going to get what the people looking for rear brake setups are willing to pay. With selling the whole car, your gonna have to give that little kind of stuff away.
It's your call, but I think you should keep the actual car, and put whatever setup you want in it. Unless you want to drive a black Jetta like everybodys ex-girlfriend. lol.

yeah but problems wiht parting the setup are: me having to sell everything seperate, shipping ----, WAITING, having this ---- laying around forever, all a bunch of BS i would hate to deal with...
sorry Steve, but the rear disc are gonna stay with the chassis...so if you want them your gonna have to buy the hole car

Good luck with VW's.
I've worked on a few..and compared to a Honda or any japanese car...they suck big time.
Try to take of the axles on those things....you need to unbolt it from the tranny, I had to go out and buy this extension thing with 6 points...cost me $22
I find the gold 2 and golf 3 sluggish and big...it's like driving a truck compared to a crx or civic.
The golf 1 drives better imo, but I just hate that they make everything on the car so weird..like they don't want you to mess with the car. everything is hidden or you need some weird special tool

And the vid of that stripped Golf with the engine in the back and supposedly ion the front to only ran 12's and it was boosted tooo..
