P.S. You could bring a civil suit against these guys and sue for damages including emotional stress. You could also sue for the cost it would be to have a shop restore your car to the pre-theft condition, which could be a lot from a nice shop.

Plus, in a civil suit the burden of proof is NOT beyond a reasonable doubt, it's only by a proponderance of the evidence. So it's much easier to prove your case in a civil suit. I say sue the thieves for a ---- ton of money. If they don't have the money now the court will garnish their wages until it is paid in full.

Why aren't the cops doing anything about this anyways? Or are they??

great idea on paper but where is the money going to come from? more stolen parts? it would just increase there need to steal. it's not you can go get a personal loan from the bank to pay off a court debt like that.
