I know he acts like he isn't sitting in a cubical all day staring at lines of code going"Im special no one can do this" ::) there are millions of you RS and funny enough you all bitch to me when your email don't work. Plugging in wires and installing is like help desk work, rarely do I actually do that. Wires, maybe but only when I need to build or rack servers. lets face it the LAN Admin owns you. coding or not, you aren't logging in if he doesn't want you to. No one calls on the "coders" to save the day when virus ---- goes down servers drop or LAN activity drop. you sit in your cubical and hear about it later after someone in my field has fixed the problem.

i write it... i don't fix other peoples ----, or qa or any bullshit like that. i develop and thats it.

i built my workstation, i don't need to login to my works domain to be able to develop.

you make half as much as me, money does mean importance no matter what you want to say...

i can walk into the server room and give myself whatever permissons i want ::)

i don't sit in a cubical, we work in an open area. and the system admins sit close to me

w/o the developers no money is made at a development place. i've worked at companies w/o system/lan admins and we still make money, because we do the admin ourselves... and don't pay a community college reject his 30k to plug in cables and try to figure out how to give accounts permissions

Nice. so your network is wide open then? What is the name of your company? and my point wasn't so much that you look at code as much as it was you do the same thing all day every day with little variance. I'm sure you write different programs but just like i may create different accounts there isnt but so many ways to do it. My job is to protect an entire Network. your job is to make sure the X button works so i can close out the shitty proprietary program. Like I said when the ---- hits the fan no one comes to find jonny, they are looking for an admin. I'm glad you think it makes you better than everyone, I could careless, I did want to point out your Narcissistic and occasional immature attitude for what it was worth. ....and for the record YOU relate your wages to your self worth not me, at least not to the point were I think its cool to ---- on anyone else who isn't following my exact life course or earning as much as me. my father makes more than you at the mill lol...... he also has a degree and played baseball for many years... and he is almost 50 years old and ---- was different back then... not as much opportunity...

Dude, now i think you're losing your mind. Yes they're more expensive but i'v put plenty of miles on a 360 and 430, ---- even put a some on a 599 a couple months ago. The minute you start comparing a viper to either of those cars you should go to a doctor. My first ferrar was an 89 rosta and imo a better experience than a ------- viper. The sound alone that a 355 gives off is priceless....

Upper level coding is easy, but being a network admin IS monkey work. and is far more easy than coding.

performance wise, you can compare them, which is what i was doing. the viper stomps all those cars into the ground in any type of race. of course the ferraris are nicer they cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more.

viper sounds better (opinion), performs better (fact), more practical (room/matenience/gas mileage/etc...) (fact)....

ferraris are badass, but what i speak is the truth 8)

its the concepts not the actual typing. high level languages are very easy... not going to deny that 8)
