with I beams the z6 had to be notched, not much... but ---- you have to rip down the entire block to notch. I just pulled the old piston and rods out then installed then. I didnt do a tear down at all. Saved me so much time is not funny. I'm on a deadline, i have to have the car running by monday morning and its been raining off and on, this wasnt a scheduled rebuild. I just blew a hole in one of my pistons.

I didnt think they sold cheap rods for the D15, or are the rod journals the same size on the d15b as the d16's? I would love to be able to build my b7 instead of swapping a d16. Does anybody know the size of d16 main's compared to the b7? would it be possible to swap the crank?

Why is everyone scared to notch a block? It takes 30min tops with a basic die grinder.
